We were hoping to get an early start to this hike but we were sidetracked in Claresholm. So our early start was now in the heat of the day. Well we were surprised to find that the trail was mostly in the trees and often well above the lake. We were also surprised to find that there were several ups and downs and with the hot summer weather we were becoming a bit tired (not to mention having the untrained dog on a leash doesn't help ).

We reached the survey monuments took some photos and had a snack before heading back. The return trip was hotter and the hills seemed higher/steeper. We finally made it back to the vehicle and enjoyed lunch on the lake.

infoA virtual cache is a cache that exists in a form of a location. Depending on the cache "hider," a virtual cache could be to answer a question about a location, an interesting spot, a task, etc. The reward for these caches is the location itself and sharing information about your visit.

Because of the nature of these geocaches, you must actually visit the location and acquire the coordinates there before you can post. In addition, although many locations are interesting, a virtual cache should be out of the ordinary enough to warrant logging a visit.

Virtuals are now considered waymarks on Waymarking.com.
