Put with redwingrr and Hack1of2 today and yes, we are crazy. It is almost blizzard like conditions, and we are out walking the Lake Michigan shoreline taking the temperature of the water and trying to learn what we can. It is almost comical and if our faces weren't so frozen we would be laughing. Seriously, we had to look hilarious to anyone who might have looked our way, although there really were not many other people around. This was an interesting earthcache. We did the best we could on the temperature of the water at the various places. It was quite comical to watch Kim trying to get the temperature and escape the crashing waves. We laughed and laughed. Not quite sure why the difference in temperature. That left us all scratching our heads. A good time was had by all, though and we enjoyed this earthcache immensely and will most likely return to do it again in warmer weather.

Kim....approaches the lake!

infoAn Earthcache is an educational form of a virtual cache. The reward for these caches is learning more about the planet on which we live - its landscapes, its geology or the minerals and fossils that are found there. Many Earthcaches are in National Parks. Some are multi-cache in form, and some have a physical log book located in or close to a Visitor Center. Earthcaches are developed in association with the Geological Society of America.
