Found it Marlex GC found O Levadeiro

Tuesday, February 5, 2013Arquipélago da Madeira, Portugal

On our first whole day of this years Madeira vacation, we planned to walked the Levada da Ribeira da Janela. We have seen the parking of the levada last year, but did not get to walking it. So, this year our first trip will be from Ponta do Sol to the start of the levada near Porto Moniz.
After parking the car we started well prepared for the tour along this cache and enjoyed the beautiful views from the levada trail. The first part is even lit at night. Great.....
After a while we passed some workers which were cleaning the levada and not long after that we could enjoy the first bubbly cache on the trail. Great idea.
Not to much later we had to search near a motor to find the next cache, which was also a great idea to place near something you do not see every day on a levada trail. To bad we could not read what it was used for and how it was used.
After nseveral other bends in the levada, we reached the next cache which we had some trouble finding the correct spot, but finally found the Alegra-campo cache.
Before the tunnel we had a long search for the cache there, but where not able to find it. To bad, but we had to continue. After using our flashlights we spotted the mystery which we took with us the last 3 Madeira vacations, but did not get to searching for it. We where tricked by Open street map and initially looked in the wrong place. After looking at the spoiler we managed to get to a position which the GPS also agreed to and there we found the box.
After logging this cache we continued to the last cache on this trail and found it after some searching near the Levadeiro house. We left a GC in the cache, had a small lunch, gave some found to the lovely birds and went back via the same trail tomwards our cache mobile.
We would like to thank all owners for placing the caches along this trail and giving us a lovely day on the island.
