Found it geoCurious2 found Brass Cap Cache- Smith-Dorrien Rd (Locked)

Wednesday, 04 November 2015Alberta, Canada

BCP074 - Calgary (Nose Hill 2)

I searched for this one last year without success. Tall grass and a light covering of snow were my excuse then. I started thinking about buying a metal detector to help in my pursuit of Brass Caps ...

We came back today, about a year later, but before any significant snowfall and determined to find it. We searched all around GZ. Nothing in sight. Long grass and plenty of dirt piles from ground squirrels and such. So I took out my compass and started moving it around close to the ground near GZ. I finally noticed that the needle moved off North and eventually zeroed in on the Brass Cap! So happy to find this one.

Didn't need a tool to clear away dirt, but it was very well hidden in the long grass.

Oh Happy day! (and it's Mrs. gC2's birthday to boot!)

Mr. gC2 and his trusty compass/metal detector!
infoA virtual cache is a cache that exists in a form of a location. Depending on the cache "hider," a virtual cache could be to answer a question about a location, an interesting spot, a task, etc. The reward for these caches is the location itself and sharing information about your visit.

Because of the nature of these geocaches, you must actually visit the location and acquire the coordinates there before you can post. In addition, although many locations are interesting, a virtual cache should be out of the ordinary enough to warrant logging a visit.

Virtuals are now considered waymarks on Waymarking.com.
