Found it Team Honeybunnies found IAT - Half Trail Challenge

Saturday, April 13, 2013Wisconsin

Our first stop of the day in territory we haven't traveled in some time. We've wanted to log this challenge for a long while, but never seemed to have the time while visiting this corner of the state. Today we made a point of it. While it wasn't a classic beautiful spring day, with heavy overcast and a stiff wind, it was paradise considering back home in Stevens Point we still had general snow and the banks in our cul de sac were still waist high. Noah was a little trooper and hiked the whole way without riding on Dad's shoulders.

The Ice Age Trail has been the setting for quite a few caching adventures, and I figured we would have the requirements bookmarked in no time flat. As it turned out, after parsing all the caches that had either IAT or Ice Age in the titles, we still had only 13 counties. After raiding others' bookmark lists for caches listed on the trail I found that we had 20 counties. I would guess that there are at least a few more counties if we dug deeper, and I also think our true list of caches found on the IAT would easily surpass a hundred. It's been a good place for a good hike, a good cache (or EarthCache) and a good view of some of the prettier parts of Wisconsin. Our qualifying caches follow:

GC27YQC - 1043 IAT: Saber Tooth's Hide - Washington County

infoA Mystery Cache is the “catch-all” of cache types, this form of cache can involve complicated puzzles you will first need to solve to determine the coordinates. The only commonality of this cache type is that the coordinates listed are not of the actual cache location but a general reference point, such as a nearby parking location. Due to the increasing creativity of geocaching this becomes the staging ground for new and unique challenges.
