Excellent! Bvpete and I headed out for attempt number two at the brass cap on top of Mt. Rae. We were certainly ready for anything with all kinds of climbing gear. It was a perfect day in the mountains with nice temperatures and no wind which made for an enjoyable climb. We quickly shot up the lower portions of the climb which is a real slog, roped up and conquered our fears to reach the top. We took the necessary pictures, took a deep breath and then carefully picked our way back down to the bottom. NOTE: I would strongly reccommend a helmet on this climb, the initial scree gully you have to go up and down is not a pretty place and with so many hikers dislodging rocks a helmet is a neccessity!

Thanks for posting this great cap!

infoA virtual cache is a cache that exists in a form of a location. Depending on the cache "hider," a virtual cache could be to answer a question about a location, an interesting spot, a task, etc. The reward for these caches is the location itself and sharing information about your visit.

Because of the nature of these geocaches, you must actually visit the location and acquire the coordinates there before you can post. In addition, although many locations are interesting, a virtual cache should be out of the ordinary enough to warrant logging a visit.

Virtuals are now considered waymarks on Waymarking.com.
