What a memorable milestone cap for us today that marked our 200th brass cap find! The weather was perfect, there was not another person on the mountain today but us and Mrs. TiE accepted my challenge and came along. It was just a spectacular day to be out on the trails. The views all along the trail once you break out of the forest are super. BVPete was quite right in his comment about breaking out of your Zen like trance. That edge comes up at you pretty fast when you reach the table top. Once up top, the winds were very gentle and it was still quite warm. except for a very strong cold wind that kicked up at the Table Mountain geocache and was gone by the time we had signed the log. Typical for this area! The alpine area makes for a nice 2 km stroll to the cap from the upper cache. The cap site was as promised... 1 m from a sheer drop. The views were panoramic. It was fun to see Crowsnest Mountain off in the distance knowing I had been up there 2 weeks ago. Looks like I may have been looking over at Andronicus and he back at me as he did that climb today. Mrs. TiE did a great job today. I let her set the pace, as promised, and she had us up to the cap in 3 hours including stops for caching, photos and lunch. The trip down was about 1.5 hours. She was quite proud of herself and has this, Prairie Mountain and Moose Mountain as her accomplishments this year. I couldn't have had a better partner today. OFTH... thanks for publishing caps in such great places. We have had a blast finding them... especially the ones like these.

infoA virtual cache is a cache that exists in a form of a location. Depending on the cache "hider," a virtual cache could be to answer a question about a location, an interesting spot, a task, etc. The reward for these caches is the location itself and sharing information about your visit.

Because of the nature of these geocaches, you must actually visit the location and acquire the coordinates there before you can post. In addition, although many locations are interesting, a virtual cache should be out of the ordinary enough to warrant logging a visit.

Virtuals are now considered waymarks on Waymarking.com.
