(FOUND) it. Headed out bright and early this morning on the way to A Glacier Made of Rocks? earthcache. I was surprised by the amount of traffic on the highway as I thought everyone would already be where they wanted to be for the Thanksgiving weekend.

There was a mix of weather today. The temperature when I left Calgary was a cool 7C but as I headed down Hwy 40 it dropped to 3C. It stayed there until I got closer to the Highwood Summit when it dropped to -1C. Just after I passed the turnoff to Kananaskis Village I passed a snow plow, with its blade up. The road so far was bare although you could tell there had been earlier precipitation. When I got to the earthcache the ground was white and you could see where the snow plow had done its job. Thank goodness.

In any case, back to the brass cap. Even though it was just under 8kms from the earthcache, there wasn't as much snow here and it was starting to melt. That made for a quick find. After getting the information from the brass cap, I took a couple of pictures and headed home.

infoA Mystery Cache is the “catch-all” of cache types, this form of cache can involve complicated puzzles you will first need to solve to determine the coordinates. The only commonality of this cache type is that the coordinates listed are not of the actual cache location but a general reference point, such as a nearby parking location. Due to the increasing creativity of geocaching this becomes the staging ground for new and unique challenges.
