Found it btrodrigues found Over ... where [Ponte de Lousa]

Thursday, September 4, 2008Lisboa, Portugal

Truth be told, I'm hurrying the log because I absolutely need to post some of the pictures we took. I knew these guys are 110% and there were times I was glad to be getting things on camera instead of looking where I was stepping, which in this case can have hazardous results. I guess we'll be laughing out loud for years just looking at some of these I'm about to share.

It was time to leave the office, the time of the day where I usually make the tough choice of heading out to face the traffic jams or stay in from of the computer watching pr0n. Next to the lesbian trio video was a new email message flashing with a brand new cache 7Km away from home. A quick glance at the details, the owner credits and who was online and we gathered a bunch of adventurers in desperate need of some adventure.

I won't go into the gory details of how the english stallion led us 5 meters to the cache (with a few wounds, sure), guided by a quite fearless off-road driver and a talented co-pilot who knows every dead-end and shortcut in a 30Km radius.

What makes a good cache? Great views? Check! A twisting maze of choices up to GZ? Check! That little "extra" challenge? Check! A suitable context? Check! Something new? Check! (it's incredible the number of unknown places so close to "home"). Good friends to help you out and share the moment? Don't know about most of the hunters, but for me it was quite positive. It's the kind of thing that makes the difference, and today it just made this hunt one of the most memorable in a long time.

In a cache which is a tribute to good caches, things might get a little recursive here, because it's one of "those". Congratulations. Thank you. This FTF and cache go straight to the favorites.

infoThis is the original cache type consisting, at a bare minimum, a container and a log book. Normally you'll find a tupperware container, ammo box, or bucket filled with goodies, or smaller container ("micro cache") too small to contain items except for a log book. The coordinates listed on the traditional cache page is the exact location for the cache.
