Found it mrt96 found Brass Cap Cache- Smith-Dorrien Rd (Locked)

Thursday, 23 February 2017Alberta, Canada

Found: BCP146 - St. Albert

After a long morning of finding caches, and slicing fingers open on glass, CR1431 decided to stop by this cap to grab. It was an elusive one as there was quite a bit of snow cover that we had to remove. As we 'surveyed' the area, we spotted a stake in the ground and a suspicious patch of ice that we knew contained the elusive brass. I darted to the cache-mobile and grabbed my Geo-shovel and we started to pick away at the ice. We took turns until the brass touched the sky and then we took our pictures for evidence. This was my very first virtual cache find, as well as my very first brass cap! I'm very excited to try and find more and more of these caps throughout Alberta! Thanks for the virtual!:)

BCP146 - St. AlbertThe stake and cap in all their glory!
infoA virtual cache is a cache that exists in a form of a location. Depending on the cache "hider," a virtual cache could be to answer a question about a location, an interesting spot, a task, etc. The reward for these caches is the location itself and sharing information about your visit.

Because of the nature of these geocaches, you must actually visit the location and acquire the coordinates there before you can post. In addition, although many locations are interesting, a virtual cache should be out of the ordinary enough to warrant logging a visit.

Virtuals are now considered waymarks on Waymarking.com.
