Well after a couple of stops at Exshaw I decided to visit the Canmore Nordic Centre before the snow flies. The mountain peaks in the area are loaded up with the white stuff.

Once at the CNC parking area it was nearly 1.6 km to the cap site. You follow the paved nordic centre trails for the first 1.3 km and with a little under 300 metres to the cap site a short detour to a mountain bike trail is beneficial. I followed the mountain bike trail down to 200 metres away from the cap, dropped off the bike and hiked into the cap.

I ended up zeroing out about 4 - 5 metres from the cap, but thanks to the work of VDD the cap was clean and ready for the money shot. Just a great spot for a short ride and hike - TFTH and the picture is on the way!

infoA virtual cache is a cache that exists in a form of a location. Depending on the cache "hider," a virtual cache could be to answer a question about a location, an interesting spot, a task, etc. The reward for these caches is the location itself and sharing information about your visit.

Because of the nature of these geocaches, you must actually visit the location and acquire the coordinates there before you can post. In addition, although many locations are interesting, a virtual cache should be out of the ordinary enough to warrant logging a visit.

Virtuals are now considered waymarks on Waymarking.com.
