After getting off to an early start this morning and successfully navigating a tricky little gravel road in the dark and the fog, I arrived on the chilly scene prepared for a challenge, the warnings of a certain prolific previous finder running through my mind. There was no snow on hand which was good and my headlamp cut through the dark nicely, but with no solid reference point, I was relying on a probing headlamp, the trusty 60CSX and memories of photos posted by vdD and TIE [thanks guys].

It took a bit of wandering around in that field hunting in the dark, and no doubt if anyone had happened by at that time, they would have thought me a madman...but hey, that's their problem right. Eventually the depression in the ground was revealed and it was indeed a happy moment. The game was afoot and there were still more caps to be found on this day.

infoA virtual cache is a cache that exists in a form of a location. Depending on the cache "hider," a virtual cache could be to answer a question about a location, an interesting spot, a task, etc. The reward for these caches is the location itself and sharing information about your visit.

Because of the nature of these geocaches, you must actually visit the location and acquire the coordinates there before you can post. In addition, although many locations are interesting, a virtual cache should be out of the ordinary enough to warrant logging a visit.

Virtuals are now considered waymarks on Waymarking.com.
