Found it 2ColdBeers found Pickin' Through the Past | Eli's a Mile High

Wednesday, November 21, 2012Wisconsin

I got a chance to clean up this DNF today, and now I can finally tell my "Eli's Story" .

It was February of 1999. I was 20 years old, and apparently WI has some sort of law against being in a bar at that age. Candlebox had come to town, and I just happened to be home on leave. My buddy got a couple tickets and we (both underage) decided to go. So we show up at the door, tickets in hand, and promptly get ID'd. My buddy panicked a bit, but I confidently stepped up to the doorman and handed him my military ID card. He looked it over, looked at me, and punched my ticket. I said "He's with me," motioning to my friend, and the guy didn't even check him.

What a great show!! And now for the payoff!!

About a dozen people behind us in line was my exgirlfriend (also 20). She had driven into town from Eau Claire with three other friends, just for the show. We had broken up the summer before, and I didn't want to spend the evening trying to avoid her. Hat tip to the doorman! He turned them all away, and they ended up spending their evening driving back to the dorms while we ROCKED!

BTW, it was a great show!

infoThis is the original cache type consisting, at a bare minimum, a container and a log book. Normally you'll find a tupperware container, ammo box, or bucket filled with goodies, or smaller container ("micro cache") too small to contain items except for a log book. The coordinates listed on the traditional cache page is the exact location for the cache.
