Found it DanOCan found Brass Cap Cache- Smith-Dorrien Rd (Locked)

Friday, 21 March 2008Alberta, Canada

BCP185 - Calgary - Oakridge

This one has been my nemesis cap for quite some time now. I was determined to make [yet] another attempt -- my fourth I believe. Armed with my metal detector and a broken treking pole for digging I returned to the familiar ground.

I found the holes which was dug out by Mr. GeoK a few months back. One of the holes held promise as the metal detector sung out "thar be brass here!"

I had to clean out some mud and dig down a little ways but after a few minutes I thought I saw a glimpse of brass in between the soil falling in and filling the hole. I didn't want to get my hands dirty but I finally broke down and reached in with my fingers to confirm that I indeed had uncovered the cap. Finally!

infoA virtual cache is a cache that exists in a form of a location. Depending on the cache "hider," a virtual cache could be to answer a question about a location, an interesting spot, a task, etc. The reward for these caches is the location itself and sharing information about your visit.

Because of the nature of these geocaches, you must actually visit the location and acquire the coordinates there before you can post. In addition, although many locations are interesting, a virtual cache should be out of the ordinary enough to warrant logging a visit.

Virtuals are now considered waymarks on Waymarking.com.
