BCP573 Horseshoe Dam
We had perfect weather for our walk to Horseshoe Dam. The sun was shining and there wasn't a breeze to be found.
To begin our trip we followed the power poles to the river. At this point we headed up the hill and walked along the ridge to a small creek in a deep gully. Half our crew headed upstream and forded the creek while the other half headed to the Bow River for lunch.
It was not long before we were at the pin. We took the traditional photos, GPS units surrounding the survey marker/pin. At this point we wandered west past the dam and had a short lunch at a lovely picnic site.
After lunch we crossed the stream and walked along the river. Eventually we had to leave the river and scramble back up the steep bank. The remainder of trip back to the vehicles was along the top of the Bow River bank.
A great day and a lovely hike. Thanks for the cap.
