Found it BVPete found Brass Cap Cache- Smith-Dorrien Rd (Locked)

Thursday, 21 August 2014Alberta, Canada

BCP655 Red Deer River

Mrs BVPete and I teamed up with the Takin it Easy crew for a drive to Drumheller. The main objective was this cap but a few other caches were found along the way. We met them at Delacour and continued from there in the TiE's vehicle. Brief stops were made at Rosebud and Horseshoe Canyon for caches of one kind or another before heading for the cap. It was quickly found at the end of a road in a somewhat upscale Drumheller neighbourhood. It was still early so we enjoyed a short walk on the paved trail that connects McMullen Island Park with the Museum and back. We had lunch at Boston Pizza and then went to reacquaint ourselves with the museum before heading for home.

This was the first outing for the BVPetes' since helping our nearly 16 year old companion, Brutus cross the Rainbow Bridge on Tuesday Aug 12. He lived to hike but was no longer able to move far from his favorite couch, so it was time. He accompanied us on the majority of our cap finding expeditions over the years and we will miss him greatly. It was nice to be with some of our friends for this trip.

Thanks for posting the cap ofth and for many, many pleasant memories.

infoA virtual cache is a cache that exists in a form of a location. Depending on the cache "hider," a virtual cache could be to answer a question about a location, an interesting spot, a task, etc. The reward for these caches is the location itself and sharing information about your visit.

Because of the nature of these geocaches, you must actually visit the location and acquire the coordinates there before you can post. In addition, although many locations are interesting, a virtual cache should be out of the ordinary enough to warrant logging a visit.

Virtuals are now considered waymarks on Waymarking.com.
