*** 1000th MILESTONE cache ***
First attempt: 7/28/2012
I was planning my 1000th milestone cache several months ago. I like to choose T5 caches with some climbing or adrenaline challenge so this one was perfect choice. My husband had to listen my talks about how I am looking forward to this one long time ago:)
Today was the day - I found 999 caches and there should be no storms today, only hot weather. When we came to this old bridge I was like a small kid when you give him some new toy - just really excited.
I went up first and enjoyed each step. But the best prize is always on the top - awesome panoramatic views. I took some photos of my husband climbing up to me and then I could start to look for the cache. Wasn't easy but I was still very happy to be there, I just like this feeling to be on the top of something and look around. My husband didn't have same feeling and said to me: You know I love you, that is why I climbed here with you, but I would like to go down now. He climbed several mountains with me, but he just don't feel good when the depth is all around him 360 degrees. He made a photo of me and my #1000th sign and went down. I continued with photographing, enjoying the height and looking for a cache.
But this joy and hapiness slowly became a little bit hell. I was looking for a cache in 100 F heat over 2 hours (!), but without success. I think I tried every spot ten times and after such a long time I was simply exhausted by this heat and had to go down. When we arived home I wrote to CO my experience and asked for help...
Second attempt: 7/29/2012
CO kindly advised me exactly where to look. I was excited again, that I have still chance to get this cache as my special milestone. I decided to go there immediately again for second attempt. We went to the bridge, I climbed up quickly and searched well known places again. Still couldn't find it but this trip was joy whole time. I enjoyed views and wakeboarders having fun on Cedar Bayou right under me while my husband waited under the bridge photographing his favourite insects (dragonflies, butterflies etc.). Today it was very hot too but I spend there shorter time so everything was fine. After arriving home I discussed again with CO my second attempt and he confirmed I searched on the right place and it could be missing (he will go to check it). He agreed I can log this as a find now. I would like to go back one day to sign logbook and again enjoy a little bit adrenaline, climbing and this peacefull place with amazing views all around. It is definitely worth it!
Thanks to CO for bringing us here and for a great adventure experience. I am looking forward for next visit...
