Got an e-mail from a fellow cap hunter last night to return to the site of Ranger Ridge and log the now "officially" published cap. Sleepy_hollow and I arrived at the parking lot at 7:30AM and set out for the target, The trails were icy to navigate in places but were relatively good out on the loop. The bushwack to GZ from the back corner of the loop was snow free until we reached ground zero where the entire ridgetop was under snow. We had visions of Onion Lake all over again, but our success there made us determined. That and the fact that Mrs TiE and I had found it on our last visit (well she did). The only unfortunate part was I was completley unsure of where we found it. I remembered the area and all the spots searched, but the final spot just wasn't coming to me. After clearing a lot of snow, we pulled out 4 GPSrs, got to the best agreeable GZ after settling, looked down and there it was. Grrrr.... Apologies to SH for the snow clearing that turned out to be unecessary. Always in great spirits, SH and I laughed it off and set out for the return trip. A great little morning hike. Thanks for the cap!

Edit: spelling

infoA virtual cache is a cache that exists in a form of a location. Depending on the cache "hider," a virtual cache could be to answer a question about a location, an interesting spot, a task, etc. The reward for these caches is the location itself and sharing information about your visit.

Because of the nature of these geocaches, you must actually visit the location and acquire the coordinates there before you can post. In addition, although many locations are interesting, a virtual cache should be out of the ordinary enough to warrant logging a visit.

Virtuals are now considered waymarks on Waymarking.com.
