Write note AerosmithPA posted a note for Misadventures in Geocaching

Saturday, September 26, 2009Minnesota

The big misadventure. It's our wedding day. JoalJazz says to me "sweetheart, take me geocaching, I want to find a cache in my wedding dress". Okay! It's your day! We try a 2 1/2 terrain up on the hill, but that was not even an attempt. Hey, I know of a puzzle down on the lakewalk that we should be able to do. So we drive down to Misadventures.

Easy enough so far, we are able to park very near the cache. We make our way down the walk with the half moon showing in the quickly darkening sky. We decide my bride will stay on the walkway as I would go down into the rocks to see what I could see.

As I trip, slip, and stumble across the rocks in my new dress shoes with NO traction (after wearing these buggers for the past 8 hours too) I ask my bride what she would prefer on her wedding night, a groom withOUT a broken leg or the pleasure of logging into a cache in her wedding dress. Without a thought, she indicated I needed to risk the broken leg. okay.

I poked around for 10 minutes or so (did I mention it was getting dark?) before deciding I needed sunlight or a flashlight. Having no flashlight, we abandoned the search for the night. I trust this will be the biggest letdown of our marriage.

That was last night. We are now preparing to take another walk on the lakewalk. This time in tennis and hiking shoes. There is a little more light now too. Hopefully I can post a find this evening. This note will have to be my story, unless I REALLY break my leg.

Too dark for caching!

infoA Mystery Cache is the “catch-all” of cache types, this form of cache can involve complicated puzzles you will first need to solve to determine the coordinates. The only commonality of this cache type is that the coordinates listed are not of the actual cache location but a general reference point, such as a nearby parking location. Due to the increasing creativity of geocaching this becomes the staging ground for new and unique challenges.
