Saturday, 21 May 2016Värmland, Sweden

A few weeks ago we did most of the Lungälvsravinerna caches. We enjoyed that route very much.
So when I saw that this route was in the same area, we decided to give this one a go as well.
I must say it is not as nice or challenging as the Lungälvsravinerna route, but it still is a very nice walk to do.
Ok... so here we kinda screwed up a little bit.
Our Swedish is not that good (yet) and I guess we weren't fully awake, because when we first entered the coords we calculated, we would end up in the middle of a swamp... That did't seem right, but we tried it anyway. Result: no cache found, wet feet and lots of laughs :D
So we went back to the sign, looked at the description again and then we saw that the CO was talking about 14 59.BBB... 14? That can't be right? That would mean that the cache at the final stage would be about 50 km from the place we were standing. o_O
So we contacted the CO ask him if this was correct... and if the swamp thing was correct as well.
Awaiting his answer we had another go at the calculations for the final stage. This time these were looking correct as the coords now were much closer and at a much more logical place. Especially considering the hint. So about a minute later we found it... just as the CO contacted us to answer us about the 14 and the swamp.
Still don't understand why we got it so wrong. It's not like it is brain surgery.
Anyway, we had a good laugh and next time we will double check our calculated coords before we start jumping into swamps :D
Oh.. and I see the CO has changed the 14 to 13 now. Great job!

infoA multi-cache ("multiple") involves two or more locations, the final location being a physical container. There are many variations, but most multi-caches have a hint to find the second cache, and the second cache has hints to the third, and so on. An offset cache (where you go to a location and get hints to the actual cache) is considered a multi-cache.
