Found it drastak found PONTA DE SAO LOURENCO (MADEIRA)

Thursday, October 6, 2011Arquipélago da Madeira, Portugal

Found together with Raptorka during our trip to the east coast of Madeira. I must say I was fascinated by the nature all around and so was Raptorka. She finished her geology university studies only about one year ago so she was charmed also by all the volcanic stones and other volcanic origin evidence.

It's one of the most interesting areas of the island and we were really sorry that we could not stay here a little bit longer (since we wanted to catch the bus to Funchal at 4pm). After all we've made it to the "oasis" and also to the peak of a hill above it. The only setback were our swimming suits left at our hotel. Originally we didn't plan to visit this area today and we didn't expect there would be some chance to swim at the west coast of Madeira. It seemed that this would be our best bath in the sea during our holidays ... so if we return to Madeira I believe the trip here will be in our schedule.

Greetings from Brno, Czech Republic

infoAn Earthcache is an educational form of a virtual cache. The reward for these caches is learning more about the planet on which we live - its landscapes, its geology or the minerals and fossils that are found there. Many Earthcaches are in National Parks. Some are multi-cache in form, and some have a physical log book located in or close to a Visitor Center. Earthcaches are developed in association with the Geological Society of America.
