Found it BaSHful found The Pitch Series: Pitch 3 (Surrey Hills)

Saturday, 01 December 2007South East England, United Kingdom

Following last Saturday's debacle I exchanged a couple of emails with Brambler who a) confirmed that I was in the right part of the forest, and, b) reminded me that there was a hint provided with the puzzle, something that inexpicably I'd managed to completely forget! How absentminded/stupid (delete as appropriate) can you be!

Mind you, my sub-conscious hadn't forgotten about the hint - where did I put my rucksack down last week? Within easy touching distance of the hiding place!! How did I miss it? Well, even with the (generous) hint it's a cunning hide and still took me 3 or 4 minutes to spot.

After all the shenanigans to get to this point the remainder, thankfully, proved straightforward. This continues to be a great series, even if I am making rather heavy going of it at times. On to 'Amphora'! (I did remember to collect the clues.)

infoA multi-cache ("multiple") involves two or more locations, the final location being a physical container. There are many variations, but most multi-caches have a hint to find the second cache, and the second cache has hints to the third, and so on. An offset cache (where you go to a location and get hints to the actual cache) is considered a multi-cache.
