Found it colincactus found ?????? - 500 Unknowns Challenge

Saturday, December 7, 2013Southern England, United Kingdom

I easily qualify for this challenge as I've currently found 1086 unknowns. The puzzle part isn't quite as trivial as advertised and it took me about half an hour to solve. It's a good puzzle though and has a neat decode.

This one turned out to be in a pretty spot and it was a nice walk there. I happened to arrive just as a pair of muggles with a dog appeared in the distance, so I had to go past. I'd already spotted the likely hiding place out of the corner of my eye though, so when I returned a few minutes later it was an easy find.

I was glad this was a regular as I've been looking for something large enough to hold a travel bug I'd been carrying around. So I dropped off Julie's First Flight TB here and took the spanner set. I also took the 9TF certificate - I'm the tenth finder I see so it looks like somebody has forgotten to take theirs.

infoA Mystery Cache is the “catch-all” of cache types, this form of cache can involve complicated puzzles you will first need to solve to determine the coordinates. The only commonality of this cache type is that the coordinates listed are not of the actual cache location but a general reference point, such as a nearby parking location. Due to the increasing creativity of geocaching this becomes the staging ground for new and unique challenges.
