After recently watching a Nova episode on magnetic shift, I decided it may be a good idea to buy a global compass (Suunto MC-2G) ... just in case it happens in my lifetime. Now, I needed an excuse to play with my new toy so I headed off to BCP067. I briefly looked for this brass cap when hunting for an OBA cache in the area but I did not have a compass and there was no telltale hole so I abandoned the search after a couple of minutes. This time the GPSr was bouncing like crazy +/- 8M so I set up a grid and started the laborious process of scanning the area with the compass. After 25 minutes I got movement in grass up to my knees. I pulled out my trusty Lee Valley collapsable mini hand trowel and started to dig. I was getting pretty discouraged after excavating about 4 inches of dirt and rocks so I rechecked the compass. The compass was still dancing so I kept going and at about 5.5 inches down I hit paydirt. All you brass cap hunters should hustle over and log it while it is still excavated because I don't think it has been found for quite some time. TFTH.

Because of the nature of these geocaches, you must actually visit the location and acquire the coordinates there before you can post. In addition, although many locations are interesting, a virtual cache should be out of the ordinary enough to warrant logging a visit.

Virtuals are now considered waymarks on
