Found it MightyReek found Praia da Angra da Cerva [Milfontes Powertrail #5]

Sunday, August 24, 2008Beja, Portugal

This is the One Log. Unique for all the Powertrail caches as unique is the adventure of following it.
It’s impossible to separate every single cache hunt when it’s done the way the owners wanted us to.

After a week of mental preparation the day finally came.

BTRodrigues volunteered to be the guide and MAntunes managed to get permission to be present with Snoopy (after all they didn’t show up by reasons that don’t matter).

With the meeting point scheduled 5 minutes after the sun rising, the mini-event organization was clearly approved. After the 40 minutes that took me to get to Milfontes, I immediately found BTRodrigues scratching inside his car. As soon as I arrived he informed me that MAntunes got retained at home. Our mission was now reduced to 1/2 of the initial force. Damn!

Anyway, as soon as we got in the car we went straight to Malhão to start our hunt. Amazing as at that time we can park anywhere we want to…
With the uniform changed (it was cold at 6:00 AM ok?) I was ready to attack the Powertrail!

BTR lead the expedition and found the first (#0 Furada do Norte) in few minutes!
7:30 and we already had one! There’s nothing as a good start!
Some pictures were taken after logged and we followed the trail.

The sand was cold and wet but that didn’t stop us. In 30 minutes we found the next. While BTR took some pictures, #1 Angra da Barrela smiled at me from inside a bush. Again the same exercise: Log and pictures.

The trail awaited us and we didn’t want to make it wait any longer. Two successes in 30 minutes, not bad, but the elder of the powertrail #2 Catorze was simply found in 20 minutes: 8:20

The legs were fresh and the determination high. The view is great as is the oceans fresh breeze that hits our face all the way. The weird called #3 Burca was the next target as soon as I logged and trade something. And again, 20 minutes was the time it took us to get there. 8:40

The seagulls were a constant all over the way and are good companions as well as good photo targets for BTR camera. #4 Baía do Burdo was next and took us... guess: 20 minutes. At 9:00 we found the 5th Powertrail cache. Not bad, we only started 1h30 earlier and only then I scratched my elbow in the rocks.

infoThis is the original cache type consisting, at a bare minimum, a container and a log book. Normally you'll find a tupperware container, ammo box, or bucket filled with goodies, or smaller container ("micro cache") too small to contain items except for a log book. The coordinates listed on the traditional cache page is the exact location for the cache.
