Adventures in Geocaching! What I love about these guys is i'll target some geocaches, park and get them, then bing my gps says closest cache is a cap!
I was doing some caching with fuzeebear today and he had a schedule, but once we got back to the vehicles, I had a cap as closest cache. Parting ways, I walked the 200m up to the cache spot.
Ack, another one covered by a manhole, I'm 2/3 for being able to open these without needing special tools. Today luckily im now 3/4. Wow is that a big hole though, and nothing but dirt at the bottom. I wandered off into the bush to find a stick and hopefully find the cap, and luckily it was only a few mm buried. After cleaning with the stick a bit, I tried to reach down and clean it off a bit with my fingers, unsuccessfully, this hole is deeper than the length of my arm.
I delved the camera down as far as i dared and grabbed a pic of what i'd exposed of the cap, but i couldn't read any numbers from my pictures.
BUT on top of everything, a nice lady saw me lying on the ground (with my arm down a hole) and thought i was in distress, so stopped and asked me if she could be any assistance. I explained that i was exploring a survey marker and thanked her for her concern, I'm surprised in today's society that someone would do such a thing. :)
