Sunday, October 21, 2018Alberta, Canada

BCP339 Ram Falls Ridge
Brendan714 put out the call for a trip to look for Alberta's Oldest unfound cache on Ram ridge and I was in. We (Brendan714, Winkelried, Leaping Dutchman and HH) met in NW Calgary at 6:30 and loaded up for the drive. 2.5 hrs later after a very quiet drive, we were at the trail head on a crisp fall morning (a couple of degrees below zero), but not a cloud in sight. We were soon on our way along the frozen trail but only a few patches of snow, but as we progressed and gained height the amount of snow increased. Sunnier S side was better but everynow and again we found knee deep white stuff. Fortunately the exposure at the cap site was to S the and it was bare and an easy find.

infoA Mystery Cache is the “catch-all” of cache types, this form of cache can involve complicated puzzles you will first need to solve to determine the coordinates. The only commonality of this cache type is that the coordinates listed are not of the actual cache location but a general reference point, such as a nearby parking location. Due to the increasing creativity of geocaching this becomes the staging ground for new and unique challenges.
