Well, the day started out ok. We had a healthy A&W breakfast and then went for a caching hike on a trail below the U of Athabasca. After that we were about to set off for Slave Lake when I discovered that my wallet was missing. Panic! We spent the next 2.5 hours searching fruitlessly for the wallet before making a police report and phoning various institutions cancelling credit and debit cards etc. Unfortunately, we couldn’t do anything about the lost cash, but what the heck, Mrs BVPete still had all her stuff so she ended up paying for day two!
Anyway, we finally headed up the highway to Slave Lake where we made our first stop to find this cap. We ended up parking on the north side of the creek and walking across an interesting low suspension bridge to the cap location. An easy find as it was well marked and other finders context shots were good. Slave Lake sure appeared to be a booming town with way more services than Athabasca. I wish we had more time to explore but we were running a way behind schedule now.
Thanks for posting this cap in such an interesting place ofth.
