A really enjoyable puzzle - I loved the way it all worked out. I solved it on the night it came out and wasn't even thrown by the northings. I considered going for the FTF (but I think I was put off by the weather). After reading the joint FTFer's logs I kicked myself that I hadn't gone.
I went to pick up the cache a few days later. It should've been easy - no rain and in the daylight now of course. After ten minutes of searching (constantly interrupted by muggles) I gave up. "Obvious place" the hint said but I couldn't find it. By then I was glad that I hadn't gone looking for the FTF.
A year has gone by since then and the cache printout has been sitting on the solved pile. I had a few hours to spare today and decided to try again. It was as muggly as before and after ten minutes I'd searched in three or four places, but on each occasion had only been able to search for a few seconds. "Obvious place" - it was just as frustrating as before.
I was thinking about trying a PAF to the cache owner but decided to have another pass by first. This time my arrival coincided with a gap in the muggles and I found the cache after about ten seconds. I scurried off so that I could sign the log in peace, and returned it a few minutes later.
Of course I forgot to look at the cache page before I left home didn't I. Now I see that it has a hint that perfectly describes the hiding place. A lesson for me there.
