BCP533 - Bad Mega Event
Elev. 922 metres
It was my first day of freedom in my "I'm taking the rest of the summer off" vacation. I could think of no better way to celebrate it than to go find a cap or two. And maybe some caches. But definitely a cap or two.
The guard post is plainly visible from the highway. There is a pullout a couple of hundred metres to the south if you're not comfortable pulling off the highway at the cap. As advertised, the cap is well below ground level, but it's been nicely excavated at some point in the past and now sits well exposed at the bottom of a pit that's about 1 metre west of the guard post. I would imagine that the cap would be entombed in ice during the winter, but that's not an issue for the summer time! Though there are a few tool marks on its surface, all the the digits on the cap are clear and plain. Thanks for the Mega Event cap, outforthehunt.
