BCP109 - Mount Cory

This mountain appears to be my nemesis. Years ago I pulled a nicolo of sorts, starting up the wrong rib and getting caught at the cliff bands. This time, there were plenty of track logs floating around, so I was pretty sure that wouldn't be an issue.

The day got off to a fine start, what with redrouge and j2d2 doing their classic "I thought you were going to pick me up" routine. A quick stop along the way to get a cache at Lac des Arcs, and before you know it we're trudging up that relentless rib.

The cap is in a fantastic location. Great views of Temple, Pilot, Assiniboine, Rundle, and Cascade. And, as has been said, every cap should have a logbook. :)

We gave the summit a good shot, but there was so much scrambling that we hit our turnaround time only about halfway to the summit from the cap.

The descent might have been tougher than the ascent. Was it that steep on the way up? I don't think so.

infoA virtual cache is a cache that exists in a form of a location. Depending on the cache "hider," a virtual cache could be to answer a question about a location, an interesting spot, a task, etc. The reward for these caches is the location itself and sharing information about your visit.

Because of the nature of these geocaches, you must actually visit the location and acquire the coordinates there before you can post. In addition, although many locations are interesting, a virtual cache should be out of the ordinary enough to warrant logging a visit.

Virtuals are now considered waymarks on Waymarking.com.
