It looks like your log contains HTML or UBB formatting. We now use Markdown formatting because it works on both web and mobile. Would you like to convert your log?

Success! To keep these changes, hit “Submit Log Entry” at the bottom of the page.

Hmm. Some of your log formatting is not supported. You might want to remove it and use Markdown formatting.

We were on vacation and had to get this cache. We found the history of Mellen very interesting. At first we wrote down the wrong information and went to the wrong coordinates. We discovered our error and soon arrived at the correct coordinates. After short search, we found the cache, but it was in solid ice. We had a very kind person, who knew about the cache, help us chip away at the ice. We got the cache free enough, to sign the log and record the smiley. This earns a favorite from us.

infoA Mystery Cache is the “catch-all” of cache types, this form of cache can involve complicated puzzles you will first need to solve to determine the coordinates. The only commonality of this cache type is that the coordinates listed are not of the actual cache location but a general reference point, such as a nearby parking location. Due to the increasing creativity of geocaching this becomes the staging ground for new and unique challenges.
