BCP562 Coffin Mountain (FOUND)

Brendan714 had come up with the excellent idea of tackling the Coffin-Sheep traverse, maybe with an extension to Horseshoe for today. The posse was formed (Brendan714, Hunthikers, The Tower of Song and Winkelried) and the team met at Longview at 6:30am (yes we got up early in NW YYC). Then S and W to the Sheep river. A wash out thwarted our attempt to drive too close so we used the more roadside parking and crossed the river on foot on a downed tree. After we picked up the ATV track and headed towards Coffin mtn picking up a couple of caches en route to the summit via the S ridge in an increasing wind. On the summit, we stayed long enough to sign it at the cache and record the brass cap data.

infoA Mystery Cache is the “catch-all” of cache types, this form of cache can involve complicated puzzles you will first need to solve to determine the coordinates. The only commonality of this cache type is that the coordinates listed are not of the actual cache location but a general reference point, such as a nearby parking location. Due to the increasing creativity of geocaching this becomes the staging ground for new and unique challenges.
