Found it The Wildleys found Merthyr Marathon MM5 - Terrific Trevithick

Sunday, December 7, 2003South Wales, United Kingdom

A cold but bright and beautiful Sunday, perfect for another Merthyr Marathon! No trouble finding any of the caches or clues, although we did take a bit of an erroneous detour through the housing estates from VC2. We ended up descending a steep, forested trail, however, which was quite scenic and took us straight to VC3.

A good walk along the tramroad, with VC6 a quiet and subtle hint of times past. We thought Pont-y-Gwaith looked graceful, and we paused here to pat some curious horses. No trouble with the climb up to the final cache, which was hidden in a quiet and, surprisingly, wind-free zone. (We were grateful--brr!) We arrived as the sun began to sink into the western horizon, and everywhere was golden pink. The full moon was just rising in the peachy, purple east.

Cache was in excellent condition. Took train book; left training tape.

Spectacular engineering, spectacular location. Thanks for another great cache!

infoA multi-cache ("multiple") involves two or more locations, the final location being a physical container. There are many variations, but most multi-caches have a hint to find the second cache, and the second cache has hints to the third, and so on. An offset cache (where you go to a location and get hints to the actual cache) is considered a multi-cache.
