Friday, September 23, 2016Alberta, Canada

BCP745 - HFHR Water Tower
N 50° 34.542 W 113° 51.795

As I parked my car wanting to walk to this cap I was approached by a very friendly local who asked me if I knew when the water tower was being demoed. We had a long chat about the tower and then he mentioned that this was a busy corner today as he had watched and then helped some people find a survey marker at the corner. And I now know who those people are! I told him I was looking for it as well and that there could be more looking for it. I explained a bit about geocaching and the event which was going on in conjunction with the town's weekend balloon fest. As vehicles drove past us he greeted each driver by their first name. Talk about knowing everyone in you neighbourhood. I should have asked you at the event if I was good to log, OFTH and said a personal thanks for all you do for caching. But here it is again... Thanks OFTH!

The Soon-To-Be-No-More Water Tower

infoA virtual cache is a cache that exists in a form of a location. Depending on the cache "hider," a virtual cache could be to answer a question about a location, an interesting spot, a task, etc. The reward for these caches is the location itself and sharing information about your visit.

Because of the nature of these geocaches, you must actually visit the location and acquire the coordinates there before you can post. In addition, although many locations are interesting, a virtual cache should be out of the ordinary enough to warrant logging a visit.

Virtuals are now considered waymarks on Waymarking.com.
