Made the short hike over from the nearby earthcache. The only thing that particular arrangement has going for it is that parking is not an issue. Short hike: yes. Steep hike, oh yes. Lots of loose scree: you'd better believe it!
Down, down, down, down. Try not to do all the down in one fell swoop.
Up, up, up, up, (a bit of down thrown in from time to time as the wind tried to blow me off the hill) up, up, up, am I there yet? No? Up, up, up, ah there it is! Oh, you have to rain on me now? Gee thanks.
The cap is in reasonable shape. There's a bit of wear and tear on the date, but everything is still quite readable.
Down, down, down, down. Repeat trying not to do all the down in one fell swoop. Emphasis on "fell". As in don't slip and fall. Easier to say than do on this scree. Where are my hiking boots? Oh right, in the trunk.
And, and now up, up, up, up, up, up. I did mention that the only thing parking by the earthcache had going for it was the parking, right?
Sit and recover in the car. Watch the wind shred candy cotton clouds on jagged toothed mountains. A pretty sight now that I'm not trying to walk up and down scree slopes in that wind. Thanks for the cap. It was definitely more of a workout than I expected!
