** Travel Bug Friendship Shell

The shell would like to travel to travel to Setúbal in Portugal and see beautiful places. Photos of the locations of the shell will be very much appreciated!

During my holidays in the Algarve, Portugal, I found a cache. Besides the usual things it was completely filled with shells. They were all the same and had the letters STB written on it. I had no idea what this meant but I decided to take one shell with me.

Back in the hotel I logged the cache and after a while I got a message from the CO. She asked if I enjoyed the beautiful rocks and beaches close to the shell. I replied yes very much, and told her that I took one of the shells to make it a travel bug.

She told me that STB means Setúbal. It's a city in Portugal, where the CO lives.

I asked her why she put the the shells in the cache and wrote the letters STB on them.

“The shells were in that cache because this one was made in the winter and in that time of the year there are so many shell's on Praia dos Arrifes and in the other beaches around Arrifes so I decided to put some of them in the cache so geocacher's can take one home. Some of the shell's are also from the beaches on Setúbal. So to join my second part of my nick of geocacher to the cache I wrote STB in the shell's because that's where me and oizo are from. We were born in Setúbal (STB) and that cache is a part of us.”

For me, the shell symbolizes the friendship between geocachers all over the world. Thank you Ana and Oizo for the shell. I hope you will see it in one of the caches you'll find some day.

Update 22-11-2016:

The travel bug was missing, so I made a copy. It can continue travelling around the world!

Update 19-8-2017:

The original TB has been found en is traveling again! Thanks to Team Geo-Beers who brought the copy back to me!

Update 30-12-2019:

The cache with the Friendship Shell was ripped, so it is missing again. I will release the copy so it can continue travelling. Goal: to travel to Setúbal in Portugal.
