Whether you remember playing with Tinkertoys as a child or appreciate the creativitiy of this once popular toy, take this cute little bug and drop it anywhere you want to bring a smile to everyone who finds it!
Tinkertoys were created in 1913 in Evanston, Illinois by Charles H. Pajeau, who designed the toy after seeing children play with sticks and empty spools of thread. He eventually partnered with Robert Pettit and Gordon Tinker to market the toy. One of Tinkertoy's distinctive features is its packaging which has a mailing tube design. In the early years, this tube was chosen to reduce shipping costs and included an address label and space for postage. In 1998, Tinkertoys was inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame. Wooden and plastic versions of Tinkertoys are still being manufactured today.
