Goal: Travel from cache to cache in search of BRAAAAINS. Visit Geocaching events. Spread the plague. Please take photos!
Meet Miles, patient #287 in our ongoing study of the spread of the zombie plague via geocaching. Miles was a tire salesman from New Jersey. Miles took great pride in his work, and could talk to customers for hours about tire treads, all season vs. summer tires, the fabric and steel belts inside the tire, and the sidewalls of tires. Miles also liked to collect the lids from Snapple drinks because he found the random facts etched inside inspirational and uplifting. Miles loved geocaching, and especially loved to help travel bugs achieve their mission. Miles was known to go on rescue missions for travel bugs inventoried in geocaches that were archived or had gone missing.
We believe that Miles contracted the zombie plague from Devin, patient #142 in our study of the zombie plague. We know that Devin organized a Leap Year flash mob event at an Ihop in central New Jersey. We know that Devin considered not going because he was not feeling well and had flu symptoms, but since he organized the event he felt compelled to attend. In a picture uploaded to the event page, we see that Devin licked a drip of syrup off the syrup dispenser after pouring syrup over his buttermilk pancakes. Miles stated in his log that he enjoyed the camaraderie of the event, that he believed he convinced Devin to replace his bald tires, and that he enjoyed his pancakes and bacon soaked in syrup. Within a few days, Miles began to show flu like symptoms, and he confided in a coworker that instead of talking to customers about tires, he could not stop thinking about the throbbing artery in their necks.
This travel bug is part of a larger study to take a closer look at how the zombie plague might propagate if the primary vector for spreading the disease was geocaching. Please visit the following website for further details, and a visualization of how the disease has propagated thus far based on the movement and discovery of this and other infected Zombie travel bugs:
