To keep Phil's memory alive by travelling from working fishing port to working fishing port, around the world.
Capt. Phil Harris, 1956 - 2010
Note: Due to the rarity of this coin, it is available only at events. The travelling version of this coin is a proxy.
Captain Phil Harris was the captain of fishing vessel "Cornelia Marie", based out of Dutch Harbor and featured on the television series Deadliest Catch. Phil passed away in February 2010, but not without touching the lives of the many fans who watched the show. Rough, raw, and very, very real, Phil left behind a Phil-shaped hole in a lot of people's hearts. This coin is to honor his memory and to remind cachers everywhere of the people who risk their lives on a daily basis to provide people with the basics of life.
Phil is survived by sons Josh and Jake who remain crewmembers on the F/V Cornelia Marie. The Cornelia Marie departed the week of October 10, 2010 to scatter Phil's ashes at sea on his final voyage.
Many, many thanks to Cacher "Droo" who graciously provided this coin to honor Phil.
