SE Cachers 2008 Travel Bug Race
This Travel Bug is a contender in a race. Please help it along as quickly as possible.
TRAVEL BUG MOVEMENT a. The TB must be dropped into a cache then retrieved by another cacher in order to receive points for the cache.
b. "Grabbing" of the TB is not permitted, except after failure of the previous holder to log it into a cache.
c. Only Caches on geocaching.com may be used due to trackability and logging restrictions.
d. The TB may not be moved by the owner nor may the owner change the TB mission or description at any time.
e. A TB may be repeatedly moved by a cacher provided that at least two movements by other cachers have occurred in between.
f. If the TB gets stuck in a cache for 1 month, the TB owner can ask the cache owner to move it on. TB movements by the cache owners do not score points.
g. Postal service or other movement by muggles is not allowed.
SCORING a. A TB only scores points on its FIRST visit to a cache.
b. The basic points scored = sum of difficulty + terrain ratings for caches located in
England. Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and abroad are out of the arena and do not score.
c. The owner of the TB scores ten bonus points for moving the TB of a competitor to a scoring cache, loses ten points for moving the TB of a competitor to a non-scoring cache. If a team has more than one entry in the race, the points will be awarded to the lowest ranked, or deducted from the highest ranked of their entries.
d. Bonus points are scored in accordance with the missions below.
e. The Winner is the owner of the TB that collects the most points. In the event of a tie, the higher number of caches visited will count, or failing that, the higher total mileage within England.
f. In case "special" points caches are archived, replacement caches will be nominated.
TB MISSIONS a. Visit a new County. Triple points are awarded for the first cache visited in a county (ie. Difficulty plus terrain tripled)
b. Visit a County Town. Ten bonus points are awareded for the first cache visited in a county town. (Except Reading)
c. Visit the most northerly traditional cache in England (GC874B). Twenty five bonus points for the first visit.
d. Visit the most southerly traditional cache in mainland England (GCD69B). Twenty five bonus points for the first visit.
e. Visit the most easterly traditional cache in England (GC14DCG). Twenty five bonus points for the first visit.
f. Visit the most westerly traditional cache in mainland England (GCNRZJ). Twenty five bonus points for the first visit.
g. Visit the highest multicache in England (GC462E). One hundred bonus points for the first visit.
h. Visit the lowest hill in England (GCGT38). Twenty five bonus points for the first visit.
