About This Item

Gate to the World

Since many decades, the people of Hamburg use the term "The Gate to the World" for their hometown and the Port of Hamburg. Throughout the centuries, people connected hope and confidence with the opportunity of taking - partially riskful - journeys through this gate into the great big world ... And those who remained behind .. They came together at special places at the harbour, where they could wave farewell and look-out for the incoming ships ... like at "Returns End", a small spot at the end of the storehouses, where the lonely would wait for their beloved ones to return safely.

This small piece of Hamburg wants to remind of all those human destinies and therefore is set for the mission to travel to all the ports, harbours and marinas of the world .. to all those big and small gates to the world ...

While this trackable is not necessarily "missing," based on the last couple of logs, it is certainly no longer in its last listed cache. For the purposes of inventory and generally tidiness, I am going to mark it as missing until it finds its new official home in another cache.

I work in sanitation for the city of vancouver. I was cleaning up around a bench at Oppenheimer Park, and I found this shiny little keychain on the ground. It's safe now, and I'll keep it with me until I travel to my next port.
