The Moose Knuckles decided to create a series of TB's related to our favorite hobbies for you all to enjoy. There are 5 in this series, despite the deceiving name of each TB (the last one is titled "5of4" and has a funny story behind it). Each will have its own mission and its own requirements to log a smiley face.
This is the first of the series: Ultrarunning. We are both big into ultrarunning! K has done a few trail half marathons and a trail 16-miler. A has done everything from 50k to 100 miles, 8 hour races to 48 hour races, and everything in between. The sport is a huge part of our lives. If we aren't running a race, then you can most likely find us in the woods volunteering at an aid station or training for the next race on our calendars.
The point of this TB is to spread the word about the sport of ultrarunning, and to share any personal ultrarunning stories you may have. If you have not ran an ultramarathon then simply share an interesting story related to any race you or a friend or family member has ran. Before A got into running she would be my crew and, believe me, she had some wild and entertaining experiences in the woods waiting on me for hours and hours.
To log a find, please share your most interesting and entertaining running experience with the rest of the Geocaching community. It can be from a race, a training run, an exciting crewing experience, or any other event you have in mind. Surprise us! Feel free to upload a picture of you with your medal or showing off your finisher's prize!
The mission of this TB is to run as many ultraraces as possible, and make its way into as many pictures with ultrarunners as possible. It would be awesome to see this guy travel to California and run Western States 100 with a runner! Or run a marathon in a big city with someone. Or travel over the Massanutten 100 course with a devoted Geocacher in Virginia, or the Vermont 50-miler, or the Rocky Raccoon in Texas...we aren't picky. If you are an owner of this TB at some point, please upload some pictures of your running experiences so we get the word out about ultrarunning!
