"Chauncy" the Chanticleer is the mascot of Coastal Carolina University in South Carolina.
Help him travel the world...perhaps even visiting his creator's home of London, England and then moving on again to visit the many places Chaucer's Canterbury Tales have reached.
I am a graduate of Coastal Carolina University, and our dear beloved mascot is Chauncy the Chanticleer. This first thing a non-Coastal person will ask is "What's a Chanticleer?" Heck, even ESPN has attempted to uncover the truth.
What any Coastal graduate or current student will tell you is "A Chanticleer is a character from Chaucer's Canterbury Tales." It is at this point where the questioner's eyes begin to glaze over and they declare that it's not a "real mascot" just a chicken. To which our response is, "I'm getting a 4 year degree 10 miles from the beach, where does your "real mascot" live?" It's all good though, Chauncy is one tough bird with a sense of humor. :-)
So help me send Chauncy off on his journey, I can't wait to see the places he'll go.
