Golgafrincham ist ein Planet aus der Romanreihe "Per Anhalter durch die Galaxis" von Douglas Adams. Um eine drohende Überbevölkerung zu vermeiden, wurde das nutzlose Drittel der Bevölkerung (z.B. Unternehmensberater, Versicherungsvertreter und Telefondesinfizierer) mit einem Raumschiff ins All geschossen.
Das Raumschiff stürzte auf die Erde, die ehemaligen Golgafrinchans vermischten sich mit den Neandertalern ... und den Rest der Geschichte habt ihr in der Schule gelernt.
Die angeblich nützliche Bevölkerung Golgafrinchams starb dann übrigens an einer Krankheit, die über keimige Telefonhörer übertragen wurde.

Golgafrincham is a planet from the novel series "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams. To avoid an imminent overcrowding, the useless third of the population (for example management consultants, insurance salesmen and telephone sanitisers) was launched into space with a spaceship.
The spaceship crashed on Earth, the former Golgafrinchans mingled with the Neanderthals ... and the rest of the story you have learned in school.
The allegedly useful population of Golgafrincham was incidentally wiped out by a disease that is transmitted over telephone receiver with germs.
