My name is Jane. I'm a juvenile T-Rex found by team members from the Burpee Museum of Natural History in Rockford, IL. My original dig site was at Hell Creek in Montana. I'd like to return to my home state of Montana to see it one more time. Please take me closer to my home. Thanks. -Jane
Edit 5/27/15 - Yay, I made it to Montana. Now, let's go to southeastern Montana where my fossils came from.
WHO: Jane is a juvenile Tyrannosaurus rex.
WHERE: In a lush, warm-temperate floodplain in what is today the arid Badlands of southeastern Montana.
AGE: Jane was 11 years old when she died.
HEIGHT: Jane was about 7.5 feet tall at the hip. (A full-grown T.rex is about 12 feet tall.)
LENGTH: Jane was about 21 feet long. (A full-grown T.rex is about 40 feet long.)
WEIGHT: In life, Jane weighed nearly 1,500 lbs. (T.rex weighed about 11,000 lbs..)
SPEED: Jane’s big feet and long powerful legs indicate she was built for speed and could possibly run as fast as 20-30 miles per hour.
TEETH: Jane’s lower jaw has 17 finely curved, serrated, razor-sharp teeth designed to tear into flesh.
ARMS: Typical for a member of the tyrannosaurid family, Jane’s forelimbs are tiny. Her humerus is about 11 inches long.
DIET: Meat
SEX: Unknown (We refer to Jane as a “she” because of her feminine nickname, not because we have determined her sex)
