About This Item

Ezekiel

This was started by the Geo-Twins (LuvWahoo and Bipolar Bear) in honor of our Spirit Run caches.
I am searching for a place to spend my eternal slumber. I need to stretch out my bones...after I am put back together, that is.

I am bringing him home. I guess whoever took him doesn't realize what they have. I will resurrect him someday using the copy of his tag.

Ezekiel is standing on the Idefix cache-page, but is not there.

I really appreciate the effort that you put into the search. Maybe one day they will realize that he is a travel bug, and he will show up again.
Thank you again

Team "Abeltje" replied on my mail but didn't retrieve TB Ezekiel from geocache Idefix. This afternoon I went back to check the original logs in the logbook inside the cache. On 29/5 a team of 6 persons (Ronald, Gab, Sem & others) found the cache and traded items. One of them was skeleton.... They probably aren't aware this is a TB. They didn't log the visit at geocaching.com and there was no e-mail or team name in the logbook. I am very sorry for Ezekiel but my search for him stops here. May he Rest In Peace....

Left a message for "Abeltje". I think he retreived the TB but forgot to log or just doesn't know what to do. Hopefully Ezekiel will return....

Ezekiel came from the United States, and would like to visit haunted places througout the world. I have shown him one. Take him with you and show him more... if you dare..... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA.........

p.s. The description of the cache container of the "Idefix" cache where I placed him is "a black metal coffin" - kind of a fitting "resting place", don't you think??

Well, Ezekiel's mission was to visit a cemetery or haunted place, so after a bit of research I found just the place for him. Ezekiel got to visit Heeswijk Castle, in the south-eastern part of the Netherlands, in the town of Heeswijk-Dinther. This castle is "rumored" to be haunted.... The following story tells how....

"In the middle-ages a knight called Robert, had the intention to kill the lover of his daughter. Armed he went away on his horse to wait for the man in the woods around the castle. His horse was lead astray and stepped into the swamp. Both horse and knight sank away in the depts of the swamp. The restless ghost of Robert haunts the grounds around his former castle, but he can't enter the house. He manifests himself as a blue flame floating above the ground"

So Ezekiel got to visit the castle, but that's not the end of the story. It's a rather peaceful location, so I took some time to relax, and even dozed off on a nearby bench after a long day at work and the drive to the castle (driving in Europe is an adventure in itself). Anyway, I awake to a rattling sound and to my horror see Ezekiel out of his coffin dancing away, and a bluish flame just above the ground coming toward us. Needless to say I ran faster then I ever had in my life. Wish I would have thought to get a picture, but I think you understand why I did not.

Anyway, I think my time with Ezekiel is over, and the sooner I find a home for him, the better.

This was an interesting bug - will have to pay attention to cache sizes when trying to place this one. I plan to move it along within a week or two.
