Current Goal

The overall goal is to be discovered by geocachers to remind us all of the friends and fun that geocaching brings into our lives.

This TB is to travel ONLY AT EVENT CACHES where it will be passed from geocacher to geocacher IN PERSON. Do not leave this TB on a "TB table" at an event. If you are given this TB, your mission is to share it with another geocacher at the next event you go to.

This travel bug traveled with me from event to event until MWGB 2010. Between MWGB 2010 and MWGB 2011, this flower traveled with TSmola who graciously took "pinky" around the the US for many events and caching trips. It has since traveled with bretina on their trip to the Alien Trail event (http://coord.info/GC2WK80) in August 2011. This flower has been sent out into the caching world.

You may "visit" physical caches with this, but please do not leave it there.

About This Item

It all started here

It all started with geocache GC1T3WX (A Shamrock Bones Quest) on July 17th, 2009.....and it carried over to Area 51 at MWGB 2009 in Wauseon, OH. I made mention at the Kayak cache above that I had never been done a kayak cache, much less ever been in a kayak. From there, I was volunteered to be one of two people seeking the cache, and to add to the hazing, I was told I had to use the pink kayak. Soon after this cache, pictures of me in the pink kayak were plastered over the internet.

Fast forward the tape to MWGB2009. TeamGeochef, who was in the other Kayak, found the pink carnation while out caching. Hey presented this to me at Area 51 to further the hazing of the pink kayak incident. I was told I have to wear this flower at every event I go to for the next year. So I figured why not play along and make it trackable. Guess this is what I get for being involved in the "Great Microwave Caper" of MWGB 2008.

See our travel bug listing to discover the story on that. And now you know the rest of the story.

There has been another chapter added to the story - http://www.pathtags.com/community/publicpathtagprofile.php?id=10061

I think today was Pinky's last real interesting day on the Pinky Goes West tour. But we made up for a couple of lackluster days today. First we visited Devil's Tower, which if you remember was featured prominently in "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" We then wandered over the border into South Dakota and ended up visiting Deadwood and the graves of Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane. Pinky also visited the bar where Wild Bill was shot. To wrap things up, Pinky visited Mount Rushmore.

Tomorrow is a lot of boring driving through South Dakota. We are hoping to be back in Michigan by Wednesday. There are a couple of stops planned for tomorrow but nothing too spectacular. If we get back in time, Pinky will go to one more event in Michigan before returning to Midwest Geobash!

Kind of a dull day for Pinky today. We left Yellowstone and visited a few more earthcaches on the way out, but there wasn't a ton of "Pinky Photo Moments" to speak of as most of the day consisted of mountain driving. We briefly stopped in Cody Wyoming to check out the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, but elected not to enter the museum upon seeing the $18 a person entry fee. So, I have a few extra photos I haven't posted from the past few days I'll add today.

Tomorrow will be the famous movie location, and do I see a visit to some Presidents in Pinky's future?
