About This Item

Dr. David Banner: physician; scientist. Searching for a way to tap into the hidden strengths that all humans have. Then an accidental overdose of gamma radiation alters his body chemistry. And now when David Banner grows angry or outraged, a startling metamorphosis occurs. The creature is driven by rage and pursued by an investigative reporter. (Bixby: "Mr. McGee, don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry."--a clip from the first pilot) The creature is wanted for a murder he didn't commit. David Banner is believed to be dead, and he must let the world think that he is dead, until he can find a way to control the raging spirit that dwells within him.

We came out to spend three nights on Margaret Lake for some late fall camping before the snow flies. Site 74 was very nice, and we arrived after sunset for a night paddle in to camp. We spent our first day exploring some of the portages and other connected lakes. Our second day was just going to be a "short hike". LOL. As we geared up and set off in the canoe, you could hear shotguns being fired in the distance. Hopefully we can avoid any hunters along the trail. We landed at the portage P-665 from Margaret Lake to Three Island Lake, then stashed the canoe, and began our hike.

We followed the portage to the forrest access road, and then to what appeared to be an ATV trail... The distance kept counting down, so we continued. Eventually the Hot Showers sign was spotted, and we arrived. Unfortunately, the cabin was still boarded up from COVID restrictions, but we still located the cache in good shape. We brushed some accumulated dirt out of the gasket seal, signed the log at 12:45h, and made some trades. Added a couple silica packs to help manage any moisture too. That is some really strong Deet spray in there! Luckily we had no bugs, so I had no reason to test its skin melting abilities. Thanks for the fun cache!

Hmm, I see this OF4WD cache "near by"... I bet one of these many trails must lead there. And so, our "short hike" becomes quite the adventure.... To be continued at GCQBE6.

A couple weeks ago we visited the Torrance Barrens Dark Sky Preserve to see the Perseids Meteor Shower. Unfortunately, the area became such a zoo of people, noise, constant vehicle traffic, and shining bright lights everywhere, that we packed up and headed for home at 2am. The police even arrived to close the road to incoming vehicles! On the way back, we pulled off the highway to take a quick nap, and gathered the info to solve it before leaving. A week later we visited the Barrens again, and were so turned off by the garbage and waste everyone left behind that we detoured home a different way, and forgot to visit this one. Today was the day though, on our way home from a trip to Kiosk in the North of Algonquin, we pulled off to make the find. Elf had the right idea from the beginning, while I was banking on it being a bit more on the clever side. She made the find, and I signed us in at 22:51h. Thanks for the hide!

Finally passing through the area today, and I had a replacement cache ready to go. I made my way up the tree and couldn't spot the old cache container. Not that I could recall exactly what branch it was secured to, as there are just so many... LOL. Anyhow, there is a new container in place, with a new log sheet. This time it is a juice bottle preform, so larger than a regular preform, but not quite big enough to fit a geocoin. Signed my maintenance visit into the log sheet at 19:55h. Hopefully this one survives a bit better. I know this is a popular tree for the locals to climb. Thanks for visiting!

Elf and I were up visiting the Kiosk area for 4 days of backcountry camping, fishing, and relaxing. Yesterday she caught a nice large mouth bass, and it made a very tasty lunch. Today we chopped and split a good sized birch to get our favourite campsite all stocked up with fire wood. After, we paddled over to the rail bed, landed the canoe, and hiked the remainder of the way to visit the cache. Everything is still in excellent shape, and I signed the log at 17:38h. Now to see if we can catch another fish tonight! Thanks everyone for visiting, and sharing one of my favourite spots in Algonquin.

We spent the first half of the day hiking the Torrance Barrens. As the clouds and light rain cleared, it got sunny and hot. Time for a break, so we headed for the water. Put in the canoe by the marina after a nice snack. Took a relaxing paddle around, saw some fish jumping, and eventually ended up approaching the cache as the next round of showers began. Landed safely, and extracted the cache safe and sound. Signed the log at 17:30h and explored the peninsula a bit collecting chaga before going back to the canoe. Nice spot secluded away from the mass of cottages. On the way out, we tried casting the lines for a bit, but nothing was biting. Thanks for the fun excuse for a paddle, and the cache.

Ha ha, very well done! I just happened to have the perfect piece of kit strapped to my canoe to access this one. After a couple errant casts, I had a bite! Signed the log at 15:40h. Thanks for the fun one.

After 3 nights camping in Algonquin at our secret spot on Grand Lake, and visiting the water slide, we took a quick break on the drive home to stretch our legs and hike the Barron Canyon Trail. The view from up here is always amazing. We enjoyed the hike and gathered the info at 19:00h. Now to hit the road and find some food before the long drive back across the city.
