About This Item

A Block 17 Model

Search online to find out more about the SAC C-17 Program, along with a list of the nations involved. (Hint: at this time, there are 12 nations participating.) This TB wants to gain some international experience before it flies onboard the first mission! ****24 June Update****: The real SAC 1 is complete, and at the factory in Long Beach, CA. Time for this TB to get home!!!! Send it to Washington, DC, immediately!!! First flight is only a couple of weeks away! SAC Nations visited thus far: Hungary. Non-SAC Nations visited thus far: Austria, Germany, England, Italy ***UPDATE***: After the fob was hijacked and crashed into a hillside for fun, a good samaritan returned the dogtag from the wreckage. A new jet rolled out of the hangar, was outfitted with its special equipment, and returned to service at, of all places, one of the world's largest airports (and former air base). ***26 March 09 Update***The owner went to the "Major Join" ceremony at the Boeing factory in Long beach, CA, last week for the real SAC #1 - it looks awesome! Lets get this bug moving! The real one takes to the skies in early July! ***UPDATE - 12 AUG 09*** The real SAC #1 has been delivered to Papa, Hungary, and has flown several real-world missions across the Atlantic! Hooray! Now it's time to get the fleet back to the hangar, and this TB over to the unit at Papa. Please get SAC #1 back to the Washington, DC area as soon as possible!!!~~~UPDATE - 06 MAR 2011 - Although the due home date has come and gone, please bring the SAC fleet back to the DC area pronto!
